The Illumination Collection is one of Marilyn Scavo's most recognizable fine art series. Each image begins long before the camera is ever picked up.

Marilyn personally designs and creates the projected artwork used in every photograph, customizing each projection to complement the vision, mood, and style of the session. Using light as her artistic medium, she transforms the human body into a living canvas where photography, design, and fine art come together.

The Unveiled Collection is a study of light, shadow, and form, where every image is intentionally lit to reveal only what the light is meant to illuminate. Rather than documenting the body, these portraits celebrate it through sculptural lighting and thoughtful composition, creating elegant, timeless works of fine art.

Using carefully controlled light, Marilyn highlights select contours and textures of the human form while allowing other areas to disappear into shadow. The result is imagery that feels sophisticated, intimate, and emotionally powerful without ever becoming explicit.

Many pieces incorporate delicate cheesecloth and flowing fabrics to introduce movement, texture, and depth. These elements softly veil portions of the body, enhancing the play of light and shadow while adding an ethereal quality that has become a signature of the collection.
